Our Philosophy
Philosophy of Independence
We believe that trust and stewardship, not marketing and salesmanship, are the “true north” principals of building long-term advisory relationships. That means providing unbiased and objective advice based solely on each client’s situation. Operating an independent advisory business means we are not beholden to any Wall Street company, financial product(s) or corporate agenda. We purposefully established and operate our business in a way to help minimize conflicts that are inherent in the complexity that is the modern financial industry. We engage in the relentless pursuit of putting clients first in everything we do.
Intellectual Curiosity and Continuous Learning
We believe that intellectual curiosity and continuous learning are core values to help us better serve diverse and evolving client needs. The pace of innovation and change, particularly in the modern financial industry, is accelerating in a way that requires the constant search for new knowledge, understanding, and insights. We seek to challenge conventional wisdom and thinking.
The formula that guides our actions:
Client Value = (Insight + Wisdom) x Collaborative Relationship.
The Flywheel of Progress
Author and business management expert Jim Collins introduced the metaphor of “the flywheel” in his acclaimed book “Good to Great.” His extensive research revealed the idea that there is no single defining action, no grand program, or miracle moment that manifests in durable success. Rather, the process resembles that of relentlessly pushing a giant flywheel in one direction, turn upon turn, building momentum through an ongoing series of effective decisions and disciplined actions until a point of breakthrough. We believe that same ongoing process of smart decisions coupled with disciplined actions is essential to achieving a “breakthrough” life.
